smoltext provides an HTTP API that compresses and decompresses short strings ("the Service"). The Service is operated by SPRAPP ("we", "us"). By creating an API key or sending requests to the API you agree to these terms.
An account is identified by an email address and an API key. Your API key is shown once at creation; you are responsible for storing it securely and for all usage made with it. We store only a cryptographic hash of your key. We may rotate or revoke keys that we reasonably believe are compromised or abused.
Free usage is limited per day. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through our payment partner Lemon Squeezy, who acts as Merchant of Record. Each compress or decompress API call counts as one billable unit against your plan's monthly quota. Quota counters are approximate under high concurrency. Plan limits, prices, and overage rates are listed on the pricing page and may change with notice; changes apply from your next billing period.
You may not: (a) attempt to circumvent quotas or rate limits, including by rotating identities; (b) use the Service to store or transmit content that is unlawful; (c) probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service except with our prior written consent; (d) resell the API as a thin wrapper without added value. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.
Strings you submit are processed in memory to produce the compressed or decompressed result and are returned to you. We do not persist the content of your payloads. See the Privacy Policy for details on what we do store.
Compressed payloads are versioned by a leading marker byte and remain decompressible across engine upgrades. If we ever need to retire a payload format we will provide at least 12 months' notice and a migration path. You are responsible for retaining your original data or the compressed payloads; the Service is a processing API, not a storage service.
The Service is provided on a best-effort basis without an uptime guarantee on Free and Starter plans. We aim for high availability via a global edge network. Support is provided by email, with priority for paid plans.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING DATA LOSS.
You may stop using the Service and cancel a paid plan at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period. We may terminate accounts for breach of these terms with notice where practicable.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
